Pontotoc County 4 H Roundup in Ada produced sweepstakes wins for the Fitzhugh clubbers who topped both high school and grade divisions. Pickett 4 H Club won rural grade school. leaders Mrs. Fletcher Watson, W F Mitchusson, Mrs. Lottie Bevers. Demonstration on making salads with cheese featured Vaness Club members Edwina Dame and La Juan Kinsey.

Pickett's third straight win in Ada Roundup division
In Ada the county Roundup crowned Pickett for the third year in a row in this division, marking the fourth plaque for the club. The event drew 400 participants across ten contests including girls dress revue and boys appropriate clothing, with 202 girls and 207 boys competing. Judges from East Central State College Homer Tishomingo Pittsburg and other areas evaluated both girls and boys divisions. Awards for winning clubs were provided by S and Q Clothiers Trader Mills and McCurley Bayless Drug. The girls events occurred at the First Baptist Church and boys at three churches. A revival meeting began Monday night at the Free Will Baptist Church in Allen and runs through May 5 with Rev. Paul Pursell of Shawnee as evangelist. Hugh Stevenson of Ada, 90, longtime neighborhood figure, spends his days gardening and tending his yard, his vigor notable at his advanced age.
