Oakman Sports club met April 3 at 7 p.m. in the school gym. Roy White and Maurice Current were appointed by president George Carter to oversee work at Oakman Lake and park on weekends. Minutes approved. About 40 attended with refreshments. Next meeting May 1 features a chicken supper. Several members worked at the lake cleaning up and burning brush.

Giant Theo Cash Ranch dispersal draws large crowd
Hundreds from Oklahoma Texas Kentucky Tennessee and Arkansas attended the Theo Cash Ranch dispersal sale near Ada Oklahoma. The event opened at 9 30 a m with farm machinery and livestock auctions. Top bid on the property reached 120000 by W C Stoebuck of Wichita Kansas. The land and buildings valued at 250000. no final sale occurred. Cattle portion yielded notable bids including TR Zato Aster at 2860 and TR Zato Heir at 985, while the twenty bulls averaged 593 25 and the total cattle brought 35880 with purchasers from three states.

4 H Dress Contests Held Here Thursday
The county 4 H dress revue Thursday April 3 crowned Patricia Tiffin Vaness as girls champion and Jerald Barton Fitzhugh as boys champion. They will represent Pontotoc County in May at Stillwater. Reserve titles went to Louise Dew Latta and Fiord Burrow Roft. Runners up included Beulah Wood Center and Dwight Hart Fitzhugh with Bobby Glover Stonewall also a winner. Judges for the boys were Pon Noble and Bernie Aker. girls judges listed from HDA and area counties. Numerous 4 H leaders and parents assisted with the event.

Vanoss FFA Leads Murray Judging Meet
The Vanoss Future Farmers of America chapter won the all around trophy at the Murray College judging contest in Tishomingo. It marked a second straight win for Vanoss as 139 teams from 33 schools and 536 individuals competed. Top performers included Paul Pedersen 1st in high individual, David Sutton 3rd, Jerry Pennington 1st in horticulture, and Gerald Thurman with Frank Lamb tied for 3rd in meat judging. Roff placed second in pool. top 30 percent advance to the Stillwater state contest April 26.

Huddleston to retire as Oklahoma State Bank official
H J Hack Huddleston will retire May 1 after more than 40 years with the Oklahoma State Bank Ada Ok. He will remain on the bank board as vice chairman. Huddleston began as a bookkeeper July 1 1817 and has held roles from teller to vice president. He is active in civic groups including the Chamber of Commerce Kiwanis and First Baptist Church. He plans to fish and hunt in retirement.
