The Gothic Revival home on North Kalama point, described as picturesquely situated on a rising knoll, was likely built circa 1857 by E. H. Lawrence. The 20 acre property and house appeared in 1858 assessments, with signs of recent construction and dripstone molding noted in records.
The house displays Gothic inspired features such as a central steep gable with lancet window and a traditional central entrance with sidelights. A Ruger map from 1868 shows a porch possibly of a different style. Rear additions, flat roof dormers, and large first floor windows appear to be later. Paul and Marilee Lesley restored the home to its 1857 layout.
