Marshall City Council hears medical marijuana ordinance debate
More than 60 residents attended the Marshall City Council meeting on October 16 to hear a public hearing on amending a zoning ordinance to align with the citys medical marijuana rules. The plan allows industrial grow facilities processing safety testing and transportation within city limits once state licenses begin in December. The council, while excluding dispensaries, expects four to five grow sites in the industrial park under state regulations. Council member Reed noted the draw of development funds but warned against overreliance on marijuana revenue and emphasized protecting citizens and maintaining services.
