The annual Walk a Mile to end domestic violence returns in Battle Creek with a new inclusive format. Registration opens at Kellogg Community College on Saturday October 21 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The event supports SAFE Place Shelter and Calhoun County victims with funds for crisis, legal aid, housing advocacy, and shelter services. Walkers may wear high heels or other footwear while raising awareness and pledges, with goal to reach $20,000 and broader community education. Participants can register at safeplaceshelter.org or contact Teri Pearce for details. Walk-ins welcome, advance registration appreciated.
