Marshall Dedicates Shearman Park In Neighborhood Ribbon Cutting
The city of Marshall held an Oct 16 ribbon cutting for Shearman Park with about 30 attendees. Mayor Jack Reed praised community support from plans three years earlier, noting the 1.5 acre site at Linden and Mansion, former Shearman School, and ongoing plans for benches tables and senior exercise equipment as funding allows. The park features donated playground equipment, a large pavilion built by the DPW, fresh concrete by local businesses, and trees planted by the Marshall Area Conservation Club, with thanks to many donors and committee members. A Grand Street Park ribbon cutting is planned for Friday at 4 p.m.
