Hospital parking plan splits community over expansion
Oaklawn President Rob Covert says an overhead bridge would cut foot traffic by about half and is not allowed by the city. The committee debates a master parking plan and a hospital expansion within the current footprint, weighing costs of 150 to 200 million dollars and 150,000 extra square feet over 20 years. Neighborhood critics accuse elected officials of moving historic homes and demand trust through better communication. The next meeting is November 9 at 7 p.m. at the Public Services Building with Diane Larkin leading.
