Crane Fest Celebrates Sandhill Cranes at Baker Sanctuary
Sandhill cranes, Michigan's oldest living bird species, are highlighted at Crane Fest near Battle Creek. The event features a silent auction with student art, a Birder's Soiree on October 10 led by Dr. Julie Langenberg of the International Crane Foundation, and proceeds support Baker Sanctuary and conservation projects. The festival site spans about 1,200 acres when including Kiwanis Youth Conservation Area, with attendees from multiple nearby cities and communities.
