Marshall Police Chief Jim Schwartz announced at the city council meeting that officer Adam Ottjepka, 34, is promoted to sergeant effective immediately. He is to complete a three week supervisory training and will serve on the midnight shift after training. Otjepka joined MPD in 2005 after nearly nine years with Coldwater Department of Public Safety. He was the top candidate after a written test, oral board, and interview. He thanked family and the council for support and vowed continued service to Marshall.
