Marshall police report a domestic dispute in which a 36 year old Marshall woman allegedly assaulted her husband with an ashtray and grabbed his phone to prevent him from calling 911. The 35 year old Albion man described the incident and walked to the police department to seek help.
Police responded after a man with a large welt on the back of his head reported dizziness and declined medical aid. A woman admitted a heated argument over a phone call. she denied hitting him with an ash tray but said she took the phone. She was arrested for domestic assault and tampering with a communication device and jailed in Calhoun County.

On May 23, Marshall Police Department and Fire Department with city crews handled six calls for trees and wires down amid gusty winds. A large tree branch fell at 4:12 p.m. on S Jefferson St, damaging a house and garage and two cars. A second tree fell on Green Street four minutes later, damaging another house and a wall. No injuries reported.
