Marshall Police and Calhoun County deputies chased a semi on I-94 after a traffic stop attempt at exit 112. The pursuit went to exit 115, then west on I-94 before the vehicle was stopped and recovered cargo identified as stolen. Officer Jerry Nye led the chase.
Nunn, 38, was taken into custody for fleeing and eluding police. Officers found a semi trailer and $200,000 worth of cargo stolen from Illinois. Nunn had pled guilty two weeks earlier and now faces at least one year in prison.
Albion Historical Society hosted its Plant Swap and Sell last weekend in front of the Gardner House Museum. The volunteer-led society preserves Albion area heritage with thousands of artifacts, displays, and educational programs. Marshall Police Department will run a spring Click It or Ticket campaign from May 21 to June 3. Officers will conduct seat belt enforcement patrols and ticket unbelted motorists, citing drivers who are not buckled up. Michigan law requires belt use for all front seat occupants and children in proper restraints.
A 62-year-old Marshall man lost control on 15 1/2 Mile Road near C Drive North in Fredonia Township and struck a large tree. He was taken to Oaklawn Hospital in stable condition. Investigators cited an unknown medical condition as a contributing factor.
Tekonsha deputies and Branch County deputies executed a search in Tekonsha Michigan on May 17 at 2 15 p m seizing components used to manufacture methamphetamine. A warrant is being sought for the 48 year old male homeowner in the 00 block of South Walnut Street. No name released.
