Marshall City Council adopts 2013 balanced budget with cuts
The Marshall City Council approved a 2013 budget on May 21 by 5 to 1 vote, with Wayne Booton voting no. The plan trims staff, replaces some full time positions with contract workers, eliminates some trash and holiday services, and considers a new user fee to fund pickups. A water rate hike and Dial-A-Ride fare increases are also included, while no tax increase is approved.
