Diggin' in the Dirt for Diabetes kicks off at fairgrounds
About seventy five mud boggers and two thousand fans gathered at Calhoun County Fairgrounds on May 11 to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Led by Kennedy Moore, a second grader at Fern Persons Elementary Olivet, the event raised 10652.84 dollars for the foundation.

Devin Price, a Marshall High School junior, was chosen among 500 attendees for West Point Summer Leaders Experience in June. More than 4,000 juniors nationwide applied to the weeklong program offering dormitory living, meals, and workshops in academic leadership athletics and military training.

Albion Blood Drive Update at First United Methodist Church
The Albion Red Cross event on May 16, 2013, collected 35 units of blood including four double reds, capable of helping up to 105 people. The next drive is Thursday, June 20, noon to 5 45 p.m. at Knights of Columbus, 13526 29 Mile Rd. donors from April 25 or earlier may donate again.
