Marshall approves FY 2014 budget with tax increase

Marshall City Council passed a balanced FY 2014 budget despite a projected $714,174 shortfall. The plan uses $4,006 from reserves and a up to 1.7 mill levy to add $330,610 for debt service on the Regional Law Enforcement Building and Fire Station City Hall renovation. Homes would pay about $85 more annually per $100,000 value.
