EZ Ride honors Officer Zapata on sixth annual event
The EZ Ride on May 28 marks the sixth annual memorial for Officer Eric Zapata who was killed in the line of duty on April 13, 2011. The Sons of Malta motorcycle club organizes the ride with proceeds to Zapata’s children, rider registration is $30 per bike and includes Backroads Saloon admission in Marshall, with Old Country Buffet sponsoring.

Marshall District Library announces May closings including May 27 staff training May 30 Memorial Day and Sundays from May 29 to Sept 11. EZ Ride runs 10 am to 1 pm from Old Country Buffet to Backroads Saloon with mid stop at Lakeside Cemetery. Proceeds support EZ Ride Fund.

Farmers Market opens May 21 in Marshall
The Marshall Area Farmers Market begins May 21 at 125 W Green St city parking lot across from the library and runs Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October. Volunteers can help with setup vendor assistance shopper greetings attendance counts and special events.
