Robotic gallbladder surgery arrives at Oaklawn Hospital
Dr Andrew J Gordon becomes the area’s first general surgeon credentialed to perform single site gallbladder removal using the da Vinci system at Oaklawn Hospital. Trained in Celebration City and Sunnyvale, he has completed over 1,000 gallbladder surgeries and says the umblical incision yields minimal scarring and faster recovery. The da Vinci robot is operated by the surgeon at a console, translating their hand movements into precise instrument actions.
