Initiative aims to improve elder nursing care in Calhoun County
A University of Michigan study funded by Battlefield Creek Foundation and led by Dr. Rosemary Ziemba highlights four action areas to boost nursing education, staff support, and patient communication. The plan includes geriatric nurse education, a bridge program for new direct care providers, leadership training with scholarships, and advocacy for regulatory changes in elder care.
