Agencies announced that 34 miles of the Kalamazoo River and two miles of Morrow Lake are reopened for the first time in nearly two years after the Enbridge oil spill. Public Health Director Jim Rutherford expressed relief that a larger stretch is usable again as residents look to enjoy the river.
Marshall Economic Development Manager Mike Hindenach told the Marshall Exchange Club June 18 that local industry has had recent successes and should be viewed in context of ongoing projects. The City Council discussed Oaklawn Hospital Campus Overlay District plans with a public work session tentatively set for July 14. Relay fundraising efforts shown across age groups include cancer research support and the Power of Purple outreach.
