The Marshall Rotary Club marked 100 years with a June 12 Centennial Celebration at the Wagner Ballroom above Eastend Studio & Gallery in downtown Marshall. About 150 attendees honored current and past members and presidents, with Jacob Gates passing the gavel to new president Marty Overhiser.

City Council Approves MRLEC Access Control Upgrade
During the June 17 meeting the Marshall City Council voted to fund access control updates for the Marshall Regional Law Enforcement Center. The project total is not to exceed 68,216.39 dollars. The MALEC houses Marshall Police Michigan State Police and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department. An earlier January Request for Proposal planned a citywide access control rollout.

Cruise at the Fountain set for June 29 in Marshall
Marshall prepares for the annual Cruise at the Fountain at Calhoun County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 29 with a pre-registration on June 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. and a sock hop dance 7 to 10 p.m. The event features two days of activities, on-site registration, vendors, and TNT DJ services, with awards awarded for vintage cars and campers and a downtown fountain cruise in the evening.
