Relay For Life in Calhoun County schedules June event
Joy Sommers, 2013 event chair and cancer survivor, leads eight months of planning for the Relay For Life set for June 19 and 20 in Marshall. The survivor dinner July 10 at United Methodist Church will feature Donna Woods’ menu, Cereal City Chorus, and honors for a longtime local survivor and caregivers. Bud Moe will cut the yellow caregiver ribbon July 19 at the ceremony, with Josh Munson, a seven year old leukemia survivor, to cut the purple survivor ribbon on opening day. A Survivor and Family Breakfast sponsored by Schuler’s runs July 20, and luminary ceremonies conclude the evening as survivors and families reflect on battles with cancer.
