Marshall VFW Post 4073 held a Constitutional Rights Meatloaf Dinner raffle drawing three prizes. Tim Hicks won a Springfield 1911 pistol with custom grips, Ben Creighton a Smith & Wesson M P Shield, and John Monroe won a pistol course and returned it for VFW use. Commander Bill Thick Jr thanked the community and partners Freedom Firearms and local shops for support.

The Chief Noonday Chapter and Chief Baw Beese Chapter of the North Country Trail Association offer two guided hikes in the Lost Nation State Game Area Osseo Michigan on Monday August 7. Hikes cover about eight miles on natural surfaces and 3.8 miles on paved surfaces. Meet at 10 a.m. at Blackridge Road and Beecher Road. Shuttles depart at 10:15 a.m. from the start locations.
