Calhoun County Farm Service Agency seeks nominations from beginning farmers and producers from under represented groups for the Calhoun County FSA Committee. The committee helps administer federal farm programs including commodity loans farm loans and conservation programs across three districts in the county.
Nominations are requested for a three year county committee seat representing Bedford Battle Creek Conins Emmett Lee Marshall and Pennfield townships. The Michigan State Police Precision Driving Unit offers a one day Teen Defensive Driving Course at the MSP Training Academy in Lansing. It includes classroom instruction seven hours of hands on training in an MSP patrol car with skid control evasive maneuvers controlled braking and off road recovery. An 18 year old Marshall woman reported a domestic assault on July 19 after a 19 year old Marshall man allegedly threw the SIM card and slapped her across the face during an argument over a phone. Police observed a red facial mark and arrested the suspect for domestic assault.
