Marshall Community Band concert at Frances Stevens Stuart Band Shell

The Rotary sponsored Marshall Community Band under Tom Evans presents its 31st outdoor concert of the summer on July 15 at the Frances Stevens Stuart Band Shell in Marshall. Soloists Nathan Durham and John Marshell perform on bass clarinet and trumpet with pieces from My Fair Lady and Ciribiribin. Bring a lawn chair for a free 7 p.m. show with parking guidance and a note that rainouts will not be made up.

Deadline approaches for Junior Golf League at Alwyn Downs

Marshall Recreation Department and Alwyn Downs announce a Junior Golf League for youths ages nine to 16. Play starts Wednesday July 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. and continues weekly for eight weeks. Registration is at the Marshall Recreation Dept. Deadline for week one is July 20. Fees are 10 dollars for City of Marshall taxpayers and 15 dollars for others. Call 781 for details.
