Love Story of Maxi and Ryan Rhodes Across Borders
A German exchange student Maxi met Ryan at Marshall High in 1999. They dated long distance for two and a half years, with many calls and messages. He proposed in Germany Christmas 2000, using a translator letter to her parents that elicited laughter and acceptance. They faced travel and immigration hurdles post 9-11 as plans to marry in Marshall progressed.
