Downtown tree planting plans discussed by Marshall council
Marshall City Council heard from the Downtown Development Authority about a downtown tree planting project approved recently. The plan replants trees in 40 locations from the fountain circle to the Chamber of Commerce and adds 22 new trees downtown. Senior Lauren Mengel led the girls basketball team with seven three pointers in a season opener at Comstock. The swimming team beat Jackson at the MHS Pool.

Retired Marshall Public Schools teachers Rick Neimi and Jerry Coleman collect donations from area schools for Marshall Area Community Services baskets to be assembled December 13 and 14. MACS accepts money toys clothes and gifts and families may sign up for assistance through December 13.
