Governor Snyder vetoes bills seen as voter disenfranchisement
In a letter to the editor, the writer applauds Governor Snyder for vetoing Senate Bills 754 803 and House Bill 5061 aimed at restricting voter access. The piece argues the measures would disenfranchise voters by mandating third party registration training and in person absentee voter ID, noting no voter fraud history and urging ethical reforms by Republican leadership.

Improvements to Fredonia Township roads lead to safer routes
Fredonia Township residents report road improvements funded by a November 2010 millage. The first project on the five year plan is 15 1/2 Mile Road between C Drive South and F Drive South with paving expected by the last week of August. Brush removal at 15 1/2 Mile and C Drive South improved corner safety, and ground cleared at 13 1/2 Mile and C Drive South along with grass planting. Local property owners shared access, and the Calhoun County Road Commission aided the effort with special thanks to Road Commissioner Kevin Henning and Paul Adams. Volunteers also helped at intersections.
