Albion approves interim city manager contract for Scott Kipp
At the April 1 meeting the Albion City Council approved an interim city manager contract for Public Safety Chief Scott Kipp who was named interim city manager on March 18 after acting in that role. The council also discussed replacing the prior city manager LaTonya Rufus amid a city sanctioned investigation into alleged financial improprieties and embezzlement charges filed against her. The body voted to issue an RFP to seek candidates, debated GovHR USA’s role in past searches, and approved related municipal actions including a wastewater rate increase and Indigenous Peoples Day recognition.
