Halton junior section shines at Milton fair 1955
Halton's Farm Lands Junior Section marked its fifth anniversary at the Milton fair with the largest and best all around display yet. Judge Agnes King and Professor O Kennedy praised the exhibits, noting Halton was among Ontario’s best. Leaders included John W. Picket and 44H Club members. competitions covered forestry, homemaking, gardening, and 4-H projects across multiple grades and clubs.

Milton Junior Institute Tops Educational Display at Dominion Stores
The Milton Junior Institute won the Best Educational Display in the Dominion Stores Special. The theme showcased what a Junior Homemaker should wear on various occasions. Halton 4-H Grain Club won the reserve. Grade A ribbons went to Milton and Palermo for Class 2, with other grades assigned to Acton and Norval.

Four Halton residents named delegates to the To Op Convention at Geneva Lake Couchiching from September 29 to October 1. The event brings together Co-Operative Union of Ontario Co-Operative Medical Services Federation and Ontario Co-Operative Credit Society. Attendees include CMSF and OCCS representatives from Ontario co operatives and credit unions. The Liberal party has formed the Ottawa government for 20 straight years.

Nassauagaweya Church Marks 119th Anniversary and 60 Years of WMS
The Nassagaweya Presbyterian church observed its 119th anniversary with a large congregation and special music. The Missionary Society celebrated its 60th anniversary with guests from nearby churches and remarks from Mrs. J D Cleghorn. Dozens attended including Rev C D Henderson of Appin and Mrs. Archibald Blair’s heirloom history notes. A three story cake and tea followed, commemorating six decades of auxiliary work under current president Mrs. David Henderson.
