Farming Not Safe Occupation Warns National Safety Council

A Canadian report warns farming is a dangerous occupation with higher accidental death rates than trade. Machinery like tractors and load mobiles is the main killer, followed by animals and weather. Fatigue and breaks, such as coffee pauses, are urged to reduce farm deaths, which reached 104 in 1954 per preliminary figures.
