Euchre Draw For $100 At St Albans Club
Jane Elliott won the draw for $50 at the Tennis Club Euchre held Friday evening in St. Albans Parish Hall. Winners of additional $10 prizes were Mrs. W Footitt J A Van Fleet and R J Papillon of Acton Miss Margaret Langtry now in Carleton Place and Mr Wesuisky of Galt. Fred Kentner drew for the club. Euchre was enjoyed with prizes for ladies and men high and low. Lunch of sandwiches and coffee was served.

About 50 Boy Scouts and Wolf Cubs brightened the scout hall on Apple Day collecting donations and exchanging nearly 20 bushels of apples. Don Emmerson sold the most apples as winners were named for baskets and groups.

Tuberculosis group hosts Oakville doctors meeting
Halton County Tuberculosis and Health Association hosted the Oakville Hospital Clinical Society at Oak Villa Oakville. Dr. Brink head of the tuberculosis prevention branch of the Department of Health was guest speaker. R F Bean of Acton presided as president of the Halton Association. It marked the first merger of a tuberculosis association with a medical men’s society.

Urban Board Explores Industrial Promotion Region Plan
Urban Board members in Georgetown discuss forming a large industrial promotion region from Burlington to Oshawa, with Acton Milton and Georgetown. The Department of Planning and Development would fund up to 10 000 dollars for a regional industrial commissioner. A consultative committee on the North Halton High School District Board is being studied by county council. The Sunshine school for retarded children in Milton now operates with three pupils.
