Halton Calf and Grain Club meeting draws crowded turnout
The Court Room in Milton hosted Halton’s three Calf Clubs and two Grain Clubs for an all ages gathering. About one hundred youths from Halton attended with 73 12 to 20 year olds in Calf Club enrollment, a county record. Officers were elected for each club and remarks praised the recent Club Leaders Conference. Reported crop seeding advances and farm economy concerns followed, noting scarce farm help, higher seed costs, and the impact of export controls and the foot and mouth outbreak on markets.
