School board discusses grants and insurance updates
The P S Board reviewed education grants from Oakville, new procedures to aid administrators, and approved higher school insurance. Secretary treasurer Billy Middleton outlined cost reporting and student policy coverage, urging parent awareness. They also noted roof repairs at M Z Bennett, thanked donors, and granted auditorium rental for Carol Wharton’s recital. Safety patrols will attend a jamboree in Ottawa with possible O P P transport.

Mrs van der Kooy began this week as librarians worked extra hours to organize the new library. Missing items from the prior inventory arrived, including children's hassocks drapes and the check in desk. With no subscriptions yet board members and staff filled new magazine racks with titles such as McCalls Needlework Harper's Bazaar and Readers Digest.

The Duke of Devonshire Chapter I.O.D.E. held its March meeting at Mrs. Neil Bowles’s Mill-Stone home with Mrs. E. Lidken presiding. Reports, world affairs tribute to Vanier, a fruit cake raffle for a new public library, and plans for a June 17 tea at Mrs. Beatty’s home were discussed. members will wear centennial costumes and host an Irish party with stew and biscuits.

Centennial Flags Fly As Town Prepares Library Displays
Several copies of the recently published history of Woodside school have been given to the new library. Easter seal returns are beginning to come in. It's an annual Rotary club project. The town's missing centennial flag the blue one is flying now above the town offices. High school students are writing Easter exams. Extra copies of last week's yellow section of the Free Press all about the library are now available in the library. The photographs of Miss Daisy Forster and Miss Isobel Anderson have been moved to the front hall of the Robert Little school.

Nurses Union Recognized at Halton County Health Unit
Garfield Brown reported to the county clerk that the Nurses Association of Halton County Health Unit has been recognized by the Labor Relations Board in Toronto as the bargaining agent for all graduate and registered nurses employed by the County of Halton Health Unit. The supervisor of nurses and office staff are excluded. The order is dated March 6 1967.

Following its annual meeting on March 5 the Acton Community Credit Union Limited elected officers for 1967.
