Centennial Library Opens to Eager Crowds

Kerr Announces Halton West Candidacy At Acton Meeting
George Kerr sitting M.L.A. for Halton will seek the Conservative nomination for Halton West. The Acton North Esquesing Progressive Conservative Association held a meeting at Acton Music Centre with a social evening. The nomination will be at Central High School auditorium, Burlington, on April 7. Andrew Frame urged attendance and noted a June picnic near C. K. Browne’s 97th birthday. Opening of Centennial Library Draws Huge Crowds
On Monday the new Centennial Library opened with bustling crowds and about 550 books checked out. Librarians led by Chief Librarian Isabel Watson worked late sorting returns as hundreds of readers explored the new facility. Children and adults filled the east side after school and into the evening while couriers and board members praised the move and thanked volunteers and donors.
