IGA scored a 20 to 7 win over the Young Legion team in a postponed Acton game. Grocers dominated early and late, Jordan homered, while Hobson and Salmon pitched for Legion as the crowd watched a high scoring clash.
The youthful Legion softball team edged the Junior Farmers 54 on Tuesday behind steady pitching by Doug Hobson. Both squads had six hits, but Legion fielding and key plays, including Wayne Marshall to Price to Thompson, plus a Gordon Mason catch, secured the win. Robust offense came in bursts with Pat Churchill and Ron Hayward homering for the Farmers and Fred Thompson collecting three hits for the Legion.
Merchants Dov Lindsay's team overcame a five run deficit against the Milton Red Sox at Acton Park. Acton scored ten runs on nine hits with two errors while Milton tallied seven on eight hits and two errors.
Fire Fighters overwhelmed Hustelers 26 to 2 in nine innings last Friday in Acton Softball Association play. Will Duval led Firemen with two singles two triples and a home run in six appearances. Daly pitched a complete game allowing one hit while contributing a single and a triple. Further big hits came from Krapek Holmes and Spichagel with Daly, James and Warren among others supporting the victory.
Larry Talliefer a former Acton Boxla star reports that sticks arrived from Ed Blair of the OLA. The Ram says more Indian clubs are available and would be sent if enough Pee Wee youngsters ages 10 to 12 attend practice at Acton High School Thursday at 7 o clock.

Urban Board resolution calls for protest to MPPs, noting subsidies to retarded schools and outlines grant levels including 300 and 550 dollars for pupils, plus 30 percent of capital costs.
North Halton motor vehicle stats show 71 dead and 71 injured in the first six months of 1962 along with 75 095 in property damage from 74 accidents. The early period marks higher figures than the same span in 1961 with increases in deaths injuries and damage.
