Rental Case In Halton Court On Tuesday

In Halton County Ontario Judge Archibald Cochrane hears Robert A. Reid for Joseph Adams of Burlington appealing a $500 fine for charging above the fixed rent set by the Prices Board. Adams contends Dominion rental controls were exhausted after World War II and lacks authority to enforce rents. Evidence includes tenant Douglas Cooper noting rent reductions from $60 to $37 after board investigations. Proceedings adjourned to January, with Adams and wife denying overcharges and receipts later questioned. India’s constitution is patterned after Fire’s.
