Members of the Baptist congregation gathered Monday evening to bid farewell to Mrs A B Reekie who is moving from Acton to Freelton. Reekie, active in church work and once a mission field worker in Bolivia, was honored with a program of hymns music and readings. Mr C Plank read an address and she received a monetary gift. Lunch followed courtesy of the ladies.

In Knox Presbyterian Manse Georgetown on Saturday November 2, Bookie daughter of Mr and Mrs Roelof Mulder of Limehouse and John Donald son of Mr Bruce Robertson and the late Mr John Campbell united in marriage by Rev A Calder. The bride wore turquoise blue taffeta with bustle bow and a grey hat. Bridesmaid Miles Helen Shelbourne wore rose taffeta with yellow rose corsage. Best man was Mr Peter Mulder. Reception at Limehouse Memorial Hall with the bride's mother in grey crepe and yellow mums. Guests from St Catharines Erin Brampton Milton and Limehouse attended. After a week’s honeymoon the couple will live in Limehouse.

Narrow escape after bus collides with ice cream truck near Guelph
Thirty five passengers in a Gray Coach bus escaped death when it collided head on with a Devon Ice Cream truck at Highway 7 and Eden Sills Road four miles east of Guelph. Former Actonian Died in Auto Crash Injuries
Clara Manstinee aged 49 of Gowanstown died in Palmerston hospital from injuries after a collision at the 6th and 7th Lines intersection in Wallace Township. Her 12 year old daughter Betty remained hospitalized with serious injuries. Stanley Erier of St James street London was the other driver. Am Manz of Gowanstown drove onto the highway. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery Acton.

Kenneth McKinnon of Hillsburg won the King's 50 guineas for the best Aberdeen Angusr steer shown by an Ontario Junior Farmer. Judith Merry of Oakville placed second. McKinnon repeats after last year. Four Hockey Teams Entered by Acton Athletic Association
Officers were elected and the financial statement reviewed at the Acton Athletic Association annual meeting. Four hockey teams will play under the association this season: Intermediate and Junior in the OIA and Midget and Bantam in the OMHA. Acton High School began using a new classroom addition after architect Bruce Niddell and contractor Messra Jono & Van Gils completed work. The space features south facing windows, glass brick top, ample blackboard space, lighting, heating, and eighteen new typewriters.
