A Concord rally at Veterans hall drew a good turnout with speeches from both parties. Edward W. Sheehan presided, while Stephen Murphy spoke for William Coughlin and George O Hara advocated for Mayor Brain. Other speakers backed Gordon Wilson and Arthur J. Gross for Curley and the New Deal.

Maynard Francis Brick, longtime Stafford Springs CT superintendent, died last Thursday after a three weeks illness. He led the Maynard schools about 22 years ago and met Charles Irwin in Germany with the army of occupation. Mrs. Fred Taylor and her daughter Mrs. Charles P. Taylor attended the funeral in Stafford Springs on Saturday.
A town wide Republican rally is set for Thursday evening October 25 in Sudbury Town Hall after a parade and Concord Legion band concert. Leading state ticket candidates will speak. Percival W. Jones heads the organizing committee and the event is open to the public with delegations from nearby towns.

Flora Heath aged 68 housekeeper at George Bishop home 89 Summer Street died Saturday evening after being struck by a car driven by Lucius Maynard. She crossed the street to say goodbye to her daughter Mrs John MacDonald of Thompsonville. Maynard swerved onto the sidewalk to avoid the collision. Funeral held Tuesday at Mr Bishop's home with Rev J Rex Shepler officiating. Burial in Maplewood cemetery Marlboro.
Odd Fellows lodge will install officers at a meeting tonight at Odd Fellows hall after a 6:30 PM supper. J Wesley Jones and staff of Wayland will conduct the ceremonies. Elected officers include Howard Prescott noble grand Archibald MacPherson vice grand Robert Lester recording secretary Albert N Hodges financial secretary George Jamieson treasurer and Henry Price trustee for five years. Robert Lester is ill and may not attend.

Maynard Miss Anne J Tervo daughter of Wai no Tervo of Garfield street wed Robert Reed son of Robert Reed Jr of West Acton. They left for Florida after the ceremony to remake winter. Mrs Reed had a miscellaneous shower at Mrs Ina Edwards Sarfield Street Monday night.
R Norman Hudspeth Concord artist recently back from Europe will lead a course titled Some Appreciation of Art as part of Concord evening classes at Concord High School. His wife’s paintings are also drawing attention at the Concord Art Center.
Miss Eleanor McMurphy daughter of City Clerk Peter B Murphy marries Tobin of Maynard at the Immaculate Conception parochial residence. Attendants Miss Nora Wade and best man William Bardy. Reception at the bride’s home followed by a trip to Washington before settling at 5 Parmenter Avenue Maynard.
Maynard Herbert E. Taylor of Framingham district grand master led an official visitation to Charles A. Welch lodge A F and A M in the Masonic Temple. He was joined by Clarence Shaw and M Burnham Furber with guests from nearby lodges. A Past Master's diploma was awarded to Harold Merriam. Major Sidney Coulter of Acton attended as a distinguished guest. A beef steak pie supper was hosted by Mrs Gladys MacLane before the meeting.
Lindsey N. Smith of Maynard was installed as High Priest of Walden Royal Arch Chapter at the Masonic Temple meeting on Monday evening after a turkey supper. Rt. Ex. Francis D. Taylor of Watertown served as installing officer, assisted by Ex. A. Lester Shipton.

The Maynard High School Student Council reorganizes for its second year with Robert Duggan as president and Elvis NyHolm as secretary. Ethel Butterworth is dean of students. The council aims to unify student groups, aid administration, promote activities, and foster law and order. Members span seniors to freshmen.
The Concord Country club held its annual meeting at the Club House on Saturday evening after a supper. Officers elected include Henry P. Kidder as president Ralph C. Piper as vice president Ralph Holden as treasurer Charles G. Edgarton as secretary John M. Abbot as governor Henry A. Laughlin as governor and Frederick H. Lovejoy as governor.
The First Parish in Concord invites members to attend a morning service at 11 with Rev. Edward P. Daniels preaching on the topic Which Way Religion. A church school session begins at 9 45 a m and the Emerson Society will meet in the Vestry at 5 30 p m with anthem Praise God in His Holiness by Geoffrey Shaw.

Members include Ruth Turner Muriel Thornby Rey Barnes Jim McKnee and Keene the organist. The studio is open to the public during broadcasts and invites listeners to attend.
