Remains of two men killed in Willapa Logging boiler blast
The body of J. H. Keisling was shipped to Missoula Montana after a 1:06 PM Thursday boiler explosion at Willapa Logging Works. Fireman John Antela, who died in the same incident, was buried at Whiteside parlors in Aberdeen. Keisling narrowly escaped death by minutes. Ray Howe, who warned him, witnessed the blast.

Daisy Putnam Christened at Hoquiam Shipyards
A large crowd cheered as the new steamer Daisy Putnam floated from the Matthews yard at 6:54 p.m. Miss Kate Baker christened the ship with a Mumm's bottle, declaring it Daisy Putnam. The freighter, last built this season, will have 1 000 000 feet lumber capacity and head south by Aug. 20 for polishing and towing.

Drowning of Montesano Man During Fishing Trip
Bert Cooksey aged 38 of Montesano drowned Sunday afternoon in the Little North River near Preacherslough while crawfishing with Barney Collins Leslie Thompson J E McCord and J Martin. Cooksey went waist deep to recover a net and sank after calling for help. Collins dove but could not reach him. Authorities consider a heart attack from the plunge likely, noting his pre existing heart trouble.

Mill Fire at North Western Lumber Mill
A blaze in the fireroom of the North Western Lumber company mill Friday afternoon at 1 45 called out the city fire department. Sparks from a fuel pile started the fire but the employer controlled it before the apparatus arrived. A crowd gathered as the fire burned with limited damage.

Body of Ed Alexander Found After Hoquiam River Drowning
The body of Alexander Marderowich known as Ed Alexander, drowned last Monday at Lenhart boom above East Hoquiam river forks, was recovered Saturday four miles above the forks. He was a Pole, two years in the country, and a member of Eureka lodge of Eagles. A letter shows a sister in Boston and friends in logging camps at Aloha.
