Boiler of Donkey Engine Kills Two at Willapa Camp
Two men died instantly when a donkey engine boiler exploded at the Willapa Logging camp on North River. J. H. Keisling of Hoquiam and Finn fireman John Antela perished. Otto Siebert was lightly injured. Keisling, 32, longtime Grays Harbor logger, and Antela had been with the company recently. The blast scattered debris, the engine was demolished, and the cause remains undetermined though a stuck safety valve is suspected by proprietor J. F. Hobi.

In Juneau Alaska Harry R Hood 23 son of James A Hood of Aberdeen Washington and Italian worker Steve Baima were asphyxiated by powder fumes when the Perseverance mine fire trap them. Hood a pipe foreman had been in Alaska a year and will be buried in Aberdeen. Earl Jamison will escort the body home. Funeral plans pending.

Rates From East for Colonists Announced
The Northern Pacific railway sets fall colonist rates to the Pacific coast from St. Paul Minneapolis Duluth Kansas City Topeka St Joseph and Missouri river points at 30 dollars for travel to coast destinations from Sept 25 to Oct 10. Milwaukee Road Extension to Chehalis Centralia Planned
C A Goodnow confirms Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul will extend its Grays Harbor line to Chehalis and Centralia, beginning this fall. The 18 mile rail link leaves Maytown and connects via Tacoma and Eastern through Salsich to Independence, with additional South Bend Raymond branch work already started. The Cascade tunnel will be completed by January 1, 1915, shortening mountain grades.

Aberdeen Chamber visits Wyncodie Valley dairy farms

Seventeen autos joined by four more from Montesano, delivering a farm dinner, and discussions urged rural mail routes and improved access to Aberdeen and Hoquiam markets. The Reinkens Brothers described rapid expansion from 160 acres to three ranches with 47 cows and paid debt, highlighting dairy profits and silo construction.

U S Will Sell Olympic Timber Near Port Angeles
Supervisor R L Fromme of the Olympic national forest announced a sale of about 70 million board feet of standing timber near Port Angeles in Little River and Ennis Creek watersheds. The two compartments carry prices from 1.65 to 2.50 per thousand feet, with an estimated $112000 to the U S treasury and $28000 returned to Washington for school and road purposes.

Jewelry theft suspect in county jail for court action
D Lyon was arrested Monday evening by Constable Fenwick for stealing from the jewelry store of T J Thomas where he worked. He was taken to the county jail Wednesday to answer in the superior court.
