Henry Shelton, once among the nation’s ten most wanted, was critically wounded by two FBI agents after reaching for a gun near a tavern on the east side. The 11 year fugitive from a Northern Michigan state prison had escaped with Sam Lieb in 1933 after robbing a Kaleva bank and was serving a 60 year term.
