Morgan County sheriff reports burglars struck Reinersville high and grade school buildings near McConnellville on Monday night. They pried open windows and doors and stole items including a typewriter, projector, mimeograph, radio, and meat with cash from a locked file. Estimated loot around 1500 dollars, not counting damages. Investigation continues.
Thirty four additional employes have been added to the Zanesville postoffice staff to handle the Christmas mail. One works inside the office and the rest assist in delivery. Three extra trucks have been rented to help pickup and deliver mail as workload increases toward the Christmas peak. Clerks and carriers are working overtime to ensure all mail is delivered before Christmas Eve.
FBI agents arrested Jules Jaffe and Walter Spritz, both Chicago residents, amid a $101,600 Buffalo jewelry theft case. They found $13,825 in stolen watches on them. Werner Sonn, NYC, said he left a feather satchel with 130 watches on a baggage rack en route from Cleveland to Buffalo last week.
Columbus Ohio minor assistant state welfare official said state welfare offices plan a conference with Gov C William O Ne and finance director John Skipton to address mounting poor relief problems. Margaret Ireland state welfare director awaits written county reports on needs. County officials met with Ireland in Columbus last week.

The U S Air Force launched an Atlas intercontinental ballistic missile at Cape Canaveral at 12 39 p m EST. The tall silvery weapon rose from its stand and climbed as engine thrust increased. Ground haze and thunderclouds hid the view while the flame trail streaked skyward. The missile remained visible for about a minute before disappearing into overcast as the thunder of its engines lingered for minutes.
A three hour rescue pulled a ten foot deep abandoned well in Denver. David Leonard age 9, son of Mr and Mrs Lyle Leonard, tumbled feet first into the shaft while playing. He was trapped two feet below ground and treated for shock and exposure at Children's Hospital. condition described as fairly good.
Army plans to test guided missiles by flying them between bases in the United States, Maj. Gen. Thomas DeShazo сказала. Two 20 year old men were killed early today in a shooting outside a south Market Ave cafe in Canton Ohio. Richard Larkin was found dead near a furniture store. Jack Lee McCullough alias Jack Stone died in Mercy Hospital after brief police contact. A third man connected to an argument with the slain men was being sought. A pistol was recovered near the scene.

Airman Edward L Yeung at Kusan Air Base Korea will face a general court martial on December 24 on charges of involuntary manslaughter.
