Senate May Soften Strike Control Bill

Nazi Raider Sunk In South Atlantic

The British cruiser Dorsetshire sunk a German commerce raider in the South Atlantic after a pursuit that ended with the raider abandoned by five boats laden with crew and provisions. Martin company officials began a very complete examination to determine the damage and cause of the accident and fire that struck the Mars the 70 ton world’s largest flying boat as it started water tests. Test pilot Ken Ebel steered the mammoth ship over Darkhead creek when it listed out of control and beached. One propeller blade tore into the side injuring a man while scorching the hull and the 2,000 horsepower engine twisted wreckage. Officials doubt sabotage and the crippled craft was towed to a large shed on company grounds for inspection and repairs.
