Yerington High Prepares for New School Year
Yerington High School opens registrations on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. for the coming year. Principal R J Hill leads a renewed staff including Avis Lothrop Francine Dardis Ella Swanson and Willis Smith. The schedule features three 90 minute periods and two 45 minute periods with one 45 minute block devoted to athletics and home study expectations set at 1.5 hours daily. Mr Hill invites residents who can host or board teachers to contact him.

May Save Fernley by Pass Around Tahoe Rim
A telegram to Secretary of the Interior Payne, signed by Governor Boyle, outlines a by-pass ditch around the Lake Tahoe outlet. Proposed by Bliss of the lake navigation group Hass riparian owners and Nevada State Engineer Scrugham, it would add 120 second feet of water to save Fernley crops without harming power needs. Rain Hurts Crops and Helps Pasture in Lahontan Valley
Heavy rainfall last week benefited pasture but damaged hay and grain in the Lahontan valley. An estimated 10,000 tons of alfalfa second crop and a large quantity of wheat in stacks were damaged. The two day storm set record totals at the U S Experiment Farm and Lahontan dam, soaking fields and delaying harvests for Newlands project farmers.

Warren Holds High Place in Nevada California Trap Tournament

Sudden Death of Mrs. Veronca Perri in Yerington
Mrs Veronca Perri wife of Victor Perri died at the Emergency hospital after an operation for a ruptured intestine. Born October 5 1880 in Fomarco Italy she came to the United States in 1900 and to Nevada in 1907. Survived by her husband four children Peter Mary John and Le She also leaves a brother Peter Giovanola of Tonopah and a sister in Washington Funeral services were held at the Catholic church Sunday afternoon.
