Death of John McKenzie in Virginia City

John D. McKennie of Virginia City died June 2 after three days of illness with juvenile mania. He was a prominent fire chief, Mason, and Miners' Union member. Survived by wife, son, sister Mrs George Ambrose, and three brothers. Funeral on the Comstock with Masonic auspices attended by state officials. The death recalls the Tonopah line race between rival companies led by Jack.
