Dedication of the New Building by Local Odd Fellows
The Odd Fellows lodge dedicated its new three story building and lodge hall on the Fourth of July. Grand officers led by Tai Williams and Clark J. Guild attended with delegates from multiple Nevada lodges. The ceremony included a 1 pm service and a grand ball, with space for a dance floor, offices, a lodge hall, banquet room, kitchen, and future billiard room. The tower front will feature Kaneier metal and plate glass, with plans to repurpose the banquet hall as a reading room to attract grand lodge sessions and promote the city.

Big P preparations for Nevada Legion convention near Lake Tahoe
The American Legion in Nevada gears up for its biggest ever convention near Lakeside Lake Tahoe from July 25 to 31. The event includes the first women’s auxilary convention, with national officers and federal bureau staff expected. Citizens from Nevada and California are urged to plan vacations at Lake Tahoe during convention week. Carson City organizer William L. They observed 35 bhp steam hoist being installed at shaft No 1 and a vein being sunk near a prior incline, noting systematic operations and potential for substantial future fuel supplies in Mason valley.

Independence Day Celebrations Draw Thousands in Yerington
Yerington celebrated July Fourth with about 2500 attendees from across the county and state. Highlights included the New Odd Fellows Wilding dedication, a lively evening program, street sports, a parade of 25 floats to the Pythian Sisters, and a Rebecca's float prize second place. Event winners in races included Ceccerelli $25 and Oscar Newell $15 in the Ford race, Vernon Penrose $10 in the motorcycle race, Arlin Smith $3 in the nays race, and Baldini with Howse $19 in the three legged race, among others.

Lyon County commissioners met in regular session with all members present. A Board of Equalization meeting was scheduled for July 23 to review Walker River Drainage District No 1 assessments and benefit apportionment.
