Lyon County Farm Club Faces 1920s Fruitful Trials
The Fernley and Smith Valley communities report farm club results with potato seed, yields of three to thirteen tons per acre, and profits per boy ranging from 60 to 148 dollars. Plans include seed usage, future plantings, and expansion to eight to ten acres. Local leaders and state clubs oversee dipping, sorting, and care, while road building, school consolidation, and improved telephone service are noted for 1921.
