Miss Anne Martin Draws Large Outdoor Audience
A large audience of men and women heard Miss Anne Martin at an open air meeting Friday evening. Seats filled and autos clustered within hearing distance. She opposed the League of Nations but claimed the real motive is its popularity in the state. She argues for free speech and the release of political prisoners and conscientious objectors. The American Legion opposes her views as she defends the constitution. She supports maternity and infant protection laws, noting far more funds go to livestock than to babies. The speech drew applause and left the audience impressed, while she traveled by auto with her mother and Miss Long from here to Hawthorne for another speech.
