Maquis Fighters of France Stand as a Disciplined 500000 Army
The French Forces of the Interior known as the Maquis are described as a highly organized 500,000 strong force, including young men and women, many in Brittany, fighting to liberate France. They operate in divisions, wield rifles and artillery, and work closely with Allied troops in northern France. They liberated portions of France, attacked Paris, and helped keep supply routes open toward Brest.
