Pipe Dream Come True in Arctic War Effort
United States Task Force 2600 built a 1171 mile transport corridor and 1500 mile pipeline network from Camp Prairie to Norman Wells and Whitehorse. Troops faced extreme cold, mosquitos, and logistically heavy work moving 30000 tons of pipe to link Canadian oil to Alaska for the war effort.
