84th Division Fights Through Ardennes to Hold Marche
The 84th Division faces heavy combat in the Meuse Ardennes sector. After an initial November attack into Prummern Germany, they seized Lindfern Beech Leiffarth and Mullendorf by December 18. They then halted a German counteroffensive near Marche, repelling tanks and infantry with bazookas mine fields and aggressive rifle fire, with Medal-worthy acts by Sgts Scanlan and Tenpenny and Pvt Theil.
